King Charming is a character from Descendants: The Rise of Red, where he is the husband of Queen Cinderella, King of Cinderellasburg, and the father of Chad and Chloe Charming.
Background
Charming was born into royalty and attended Merlin's Academy, where he met Ella and they became a couple after attending Castlecoming together. They eventually married and had two children named Chad and Chloe Charming.
Role in the film
King Charming is first seen training his daughter, Chloe, in sword fighting when her mother, Cinderella brings their daughter some glass boots as a gift. They congratulate their daughter on getting into Auradon and Charming watches as Cinderella takes Chloe for an opening day. After the Queen of Hearts sentences Cinderella to death, Chloe and Red, the queen's daughter, accidentally time travel over 30 years into the past, when Auradon was known as Merlin's Academy. They quickly learn that they have travelled to the past and realise that the teenage girls are their respective mothers. During "Life Is Sweeter", Chloe and Red meet a younger version of Charming, who Red shows an interest in until Chloe points out he is her dad, grossing Red out.
Young Ella shows an interest in Charming and wants to ask him to Castlecoming, which Chloe informs Red that is the event in which her parents fell in love. During this time, the girls use Chloe's magic mirror to see how things are going in the present timeline, and see an adult Charming confronting Red's mother, who has broken Cinderella's glass slippers. He calls out for his wife as he is informed of her execution.
Red and Ella are later able to travel back to the future and realise they have altered the timeline slightly, where Cinderella is unharmed and the Queen of Hearts has become a better person.
Trivia
