The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle is a location frequently seen across various forms of popular culture. It is based on the real world location of the same name that is situated across the North Atlantic Ocean. It is commonly used as a place of supernatural and unusual activity, though the claims have often been seen as dubious or unreliable.
The Bermuda Triangle is a supposed connection between three areas across the Atlantic. Miami, Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the small island of Bermuda. The total area covers 1.3 to 3.9 million km² (0.50 to 1.51 million sq mi).
Myth
The constantly held belief is that various ships and planes that enter the area either become lost or are never seen again. Ships such as the HMS Atalanta and the USS Cyclops, and planes such as Flight 19 and Douglas DC-3 entered the area and were never seen again. However, several things to consider is that the number of planes and ships that were supposedly "never seen again", was no greater or less than any other area in the world. Not only that, but the area is a center that is highly known for having terrible weather, making it likely that any ship or plane could get lost at the wrong time. Various other reasonable explanations have been offered, but this has not stopped the Bermuda Triangle from being seen as an enigmatic location.
The Triangle is the setting of the episode "Bermuda Triangle Tangle". In it Scrooge McDuck takes Huey, Dewey, and Louie there when one of his cargo ships is said to have gotten lost there. It is revealed that the Triangle is cluttered with sea weed and is home to a sea weed monster who, while not aggressive, is still dangerous. Various travelers are shown to have made themselves home to a giant sea weed island and have made a living harvesting the oceanic plant.
The Triangle is featured in the self-titled episode. Here, the Bermuda Triangle is shown to have supernatural powers, implied to be wish granting. In this case, Zack and Cody Martin are sent into a parallel universe where they didn't grow up together.
