Procrustes, also known as Crusty, is a minor antagonist in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He is a son of Poseidon who traps weary travelers.
Background
Personality
Procrustes comes off as a friendly and eager salesman, but is in actuality, a deranged individual who loves trapping "weary travelers" in his trap waterbeds. Despite being easily find out by Percy Jackson, he continues his charade of being a salesman. He seems to hold a slight grudge towards his close family as he tells Percy that he "has dad's eyes" in an almost distasteful way. He is incredibly cynical and doubted that Percy and his friends would survive the Underworld.
Physical appearance
Procrustes is a very tall, gaunt man with long, receding grey hair. His attire is that of a snazzy lime green suit, a reddish undershirt, and pocket handkerchief, and brown dress shoes. His appearance gives off a sleazy salesman vibe.
Role in the series
Procrustes, or Crusty as he preferred to be called, a son of Poseidon, ran his own personal waterbed store as a way to capture and kill passing travelers. He also doubled as the guardian of the entrance to the Underworld. One day, he was greeted by his younger half brother Percy Jackson who immediately identified him. Crusty appeared to despise him as despite being outed by him, insisted that he try one of his waterbeds. Percy smugly told him to try it himself and was promptly pushed into one by an invisible Annabeth Chase. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover Underwood proceeded to go to the Underworld entrance with an entrapped Crusty declaring that they will never return alive.
