"The Bank Job" is the second segment of the sixteenth episode of The Rocketeer. It premiered on April 24, 2020 alongside "The Valkyrie Cleans Up".
Plot
Tesh leads Kit and Butch to the new waveboard which he plans to buy. Tesh states that it is red, but he doesn't have enough money to get it yet. He had been saving up what he make from helping at Ambrose's hardware store, but it is taking forever. Tesh decides to buy some snow cones but decides to put the money back in the sock. Kit knows that Sareena keeps the money in the bank, so it's not in her pocket to spend. The money is locked in the vault so it doesn't get lost or stolen.
Meanwhile, Laura and Harley are planning to break into the Hughesville Bank. Laura steals some coins before throwing back them back, as she is making wishes. Harley tells Laura that this is no time to be silly, as she needs to promise her she'll be serious about the plan. They plan to break into the bank and take all the money in the vault. Laura and Harley only need a bank key, a drill, and some boba straws.
At the time, Jerry tells Kit and Tesh that the bank will take good care of Tesh's money until he needs it. Laura and Harley then arrive, and Kit knows them as the ones who stole the donations from their air show. Laura and Harley claim they're here to get a job, as they heard the bank needed help. Kit, Tesh, and Butch know they're lying. As they leave, Laura starts to become serious and states that Jerry is her new boss. Harley tells Laura that she can steal the bank key for their heist, but Laura knows that stealing is against bank rules. Laura tells Harley to stand in line. Harley soon heads to Laura and takes a ticket with the number 5. Laura incorrectly guesses the number before closing the window. Harley decides to come up with a new plan to get into the vault.
Meanwhile, Kit and Tesh are offering others to get gear at Cheena Hardware so that Tesh can get enough money for the waveboard. Kit soon spots Harley making off with the old waveboard. Tesh stays at the job while Kit suits up and follows Harley, who also stole some things. Harley soon heads in an apartment before heading back to the park and down a hole. Kit is in pursuit, but Harley causes a rockslide separating her from Kit, who tells Tesh about the situation.
Later, Kit decides to get the money by helping people at the airfield wash planes and sweep out hangars. Meanwhile, Laura brings Jerry doughnuts for the office, and he thanks her for them and organizing the Jenkins account with stickers. Jerry then gives the bank keys to Laura. Later, Harley is about to tell Laura her plan when Laura brings a line of home credit and sneezes. Harley decides to do the plan on her own.
Harley spots Kit and Tesh. Ambrose tells them that she's just about finished. Just then, Mrs. Snootsmith states that she could use someone to watch Honey while she makes some calls. Kit and Tesh volunteer to do so as Harley steals a drill. Mrs. Snootsmith gives Kit and Tesh some money as Butch and Honey play. Ambrose soon notices someone stealing his drill, and Kit knows Harley is behind this. She follows the truck while Tesh watches Butch and Honey, who are asleep. Tesh decides to watch more pets at once so he can make enough money, but finds it harder than expected. Richard also asks Tesh to walk Taffy for him. Eddie and Taffy soon chase each other up a tree, alerting Butch and Honey. They go to chase Eddie and Taffy, and Tesh informs Kit about it. Kit stops the truck as she spots Honey running loose. Tesh reveals that that's the help he was talking about as he chases another pet.
Kit soon catches up with Eddie while reuniting with Butch. Tesh soon retrieves Taffy, and Kit also rescues the pet. Later, Mrs. Snootsmith is impressed that Honey had quite a day with Kit and Tesh before she leaves. Tesh is done pet-sitting, as he is too tired to ride the new waveboard. Kit states that all the little things Harley has been stealing makes her think she's up to something. Since she saw Harley at the bank earlier, Kit knows she'll take Tesh's money and decides to prevent that from happening.
Harley climbs up the wall with suction cups and heads in the bank through a window. She gets past the lasers and breaks into the vault, which she opens. Laura then appears with the money, revealing herself to pull off the heist. Laura was helping Harley with the plan the whole time, and Harley is proud of her. All Laura had to do was be serious, but she sneezes and sets off the alarm.
Laura and Harley exit the bank, and Kit confronts them. Jerry and Officer Crowfoot arrive, and Kit tells them that Laura and Harley tried to break in. Jerry and Crowfoot handcuff them, and Harley tells Laura that she's the best sister, and they decide to get some pizza and a line of credit when they get out of jail. The next day, Kit shows Tesh a surprise: she got him the waveboard he was saving up for. Turns out, Kit got the old one back from Harley, and Ambrose painted it red. Tesh decides to take it with him to go pet-sitting today, and he learned that he'll take it one pet at a time.
